Taste of Cayman 2017 supports Cayman Islands’ Rotaract clubs
“We are so happy that the raffle was a success this year,” Ms Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, Executive Director of CITA said. “The members of Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman and Rotaract Blue do such amazing work within our community, which is reflective of our own values here at CITA, and we are delighted to be able to give back to this organisation.”
Mr. Pierre Connolly, President of Rotaract Grand Cayman said that both organizations were happy to not only have been chosen as the beneficiaries of this year’s raffle but to also have an opportunity to further interact with the community they serve through volunteering to help sell the raffle tickets.
“Taste of Cayman has become a staple event in the Cayman community calendar and we are pleased to have had the opportunity to get out there and share in all of the festivities.” Mr. Connolly said.
Ms. Francesca Hamann, President of Rotaract Blue said: “Taste of Cayman is one of the best examples of what the Cayman Community is: a diverse group of people coming together to support and help each other grow and develop. It was a pleasure to be involved in this year’s event and we can’t wait to see what next year’s 30th anniversary has to bring.”
The Raffle Grand Prize of a packaged trip to the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Miami, including round trip flights on Cayman Airways and hotel accommodation, was won by Miss Renee Prendergast. There she and a guest will be treated to various cooking demonstrations including Goya Foods Grand Tasting Village, ‘Lucky Chopsticks an Asian Night Market’ with Andrew Zimmern and ‘The Art of Tiki’, a cocktail showdown with Robert Irvine.
“The raffle was loaded with so many wonderful items, from staycations and spa vouchers to gift certificates for some of Cayman’s best restaurants,” Ms. Dixon-Ebanks said. “We are very grateful to all our CITA members who donated these amazing prizes and trust that all winners will be excited with their gifts.”
“I want to express my congratulations to Miss Prendergast for her win of the main prize and I hope she fully enjoys her experience and travel”.

Taste of Cayman Food & Drink Festival 2017:
Taste of Cayman began in the late 80’s, when a small number of restaurants from the Cayman Islands Restaurant Association met in a field to compete in a Chili Cook Off. The event has now grown into what it is today, with thousands of festival goers and over 45 restaurants, bars and vendors participating in the island’s largest foodie gathering. 2017’s Taste of Cayman Food & Drink Festival took place on Saturday 28 January and saw over 5,000 people head to the Festival Green at Camana Bay to sample food and drink from restaurants and bars from across the island.
