Fleet and Stores Manager Darren Ebanks, with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), has been named the newest Chief Officer’s Choice by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Acting Chief Officer Ms. Kathryn Dinspel-Powell, amongst other Ministry and RCIPS leaders, presented the award to Mr. Ebanks as the successful civil servant for the month of January 2017.

Mr. Ebanks has worked for the RCIPS for more than six years. As Fleet and Stores Manager, he maintains the entire fleet of vehicles and is responsible for ensuring the organisation has safe and reliable vehicles for all logistic operations, in addition to uniforms and equipment.

Mr. Ebanks was nominated by RCIPS Business Manager, Ms. Charmaine Moss, for his remarkable performance on the job and his outstanding commitment to serve the organisation.

“Mr. Ebanks is a hard-working and highly motivated employee, who acts with integrity and professionalism,” Ms. Moss explained. “He has a passion for the job, and constantly motivates his peers to take on new challenges. His unwavering commitment to the RCIPS is a source of inspiration for others. Mr. Ebanks is always enthusiastic, an excellent team player with a strong desire to impact positive change throughout the organisation.”

“It’s a privilege to highlight the excellent work of a dedicated civil servant like Mr. Ebanks,” Acting Chief Officer Dinspel-Powell added. “This recognition symbolises and reinforces the values and standards that I encourage all staff to exhibit on a daily basis. The Ministry values the skills, knowledge and dedication that Mr. Ebanks brings to his job.”

Mr. Ebanks in return expressed his gratitude, “I greatly appreciate being honoured for just doing my job. I would like to thank my team and all of my mentors within the RCIPS who teach me so much, and help me grow every day. I am extremely grateful for this recognition, and I hope it will inspire others.”
