The Editor Speaks: Women
As a man I could argue the same applies – there would be no humans in the world without men.
That is true from the beginning.
But men’s sperm is already being stored and even marketed. A woman doesn’t need a physical man with the act of intercourse to make a woman pregnant any more. Artificial insemination has increased.
With women becoming more physical the tough sports such as boxing, wrestling, martial arts, weight lifting, etc. and even body building, are not the sole discipline for men.
Only yesterday I read a kick boxing female champion had a physical argument with her boyfriend and knocked him out!
For hundreds of years women have had to fight to get equal rights with us men. Examples are the right to vote, equal status in the military and now it is equal pay.
And women are even more determined to fight.
Today (Wed 8) is International Women’s Day and there are marches planned all over the world to make us men sit up and listen.
In the Muslim World there are even uprisings there.
We men can say how many useful inventions have been made by women compared to men. Their answer to that is – have they been given the same chance?
Men. I am afraid to have to tell you. The Day of the Woman is here today and tomorrow and for evermore.
