Police can now confirm a quantity of cash was taken in the robbery.

A 51 year old male security guard remains in a stable condition in the hospital, the second guard has since been discharged.

Police can confirm that there was an attempt armed robbery of an armoured vehicle at about 710pmtonight outside Foster’s Supermarket, Airport Road GT where shots were fired.

Two security guards were involved in the incident,one of the guards received gunshot wounds to his leg and arm.

Both guards were taken to GT Hospital for treatment.

Police are currently on the scene.

No arrests have been made at this time.

It is not yet known if anything was taken.
