Serious Incident in East End Involving Motorcycle Yesterday, 9 April
Just after 4pm yesterday, 9 April, police responded to Seaview Road in East End, in the vicinity of no. 2289, where a motorcyclist had been lying in the road and was transported to hospital by ambulance. It was understood that the motorcyclist had fallen off his bike while riding with a group of others, all of whom were possibly engaging in dangerous driving. The other motorcyclists had left by the time emergency personnel had arrived and it is believed that they also removed the victim’s motorbike.
The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man from Bodden Town, is currently in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The incident is under investigation, and police are requesting to speak with those riding with the man at the time of the accident. Police are also requesting that the motorbike he was riding be brought to any police station.
“This incident highlights the very concerns we have raised before about dangerous riding on public roads, which puts everyone at risk,” said Commissioner of Police Derek Byrne. “This incident will be fully investigated and we are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.”

Man Charged with Rape, Assault and Threatening Offences
A man, age 45 of George Town, has been charged with Rape, Assault ABH, Threats to Kill and Abduction in connection with an incident that occurred on 3 April. The victim and man are known to each other. The victim sustained injuries in the attack, was treated in hospital, and released.
The man will be in court today, 10 April.
