Re Cayman Islands police busy weekend

In relation to the incident on Cayman Brac on Saturday 29 April 2017 where two persons were injured:
– One male who was arrested and taken to Grand Cayman has been formally charged for (1) Attempted Murder; (2) Unlawful Wounding. He was taken to court today and remanded in custody.
– One of the two victims remains in hospital undergoing treatment.

Subject: Press Release _ Police Had a Busy Weekend
Police responded to 230 Incidents between 6 AM Friday 28 April and 6 AMMonday 1st May 2017.
The police executed 9 arrest warrants and a total of 14 persons were arrested.
Following a report of ganja smoking at the Ed Bush Playing Field in Birch Tree Hill, West Bay, on Saturday 29 April, 2017 about 10:14 AM, the police attended and took 4 juvenile boys between the ages of 7 – 12 years old into custody. Two of the boys were released into the custody of their parents and two were arrested and booked into police custody for Possession and Consuming Ganja before being bailed into the custody of their parents.
One male was arrested on Cayman Brac at 11:30 PM for wounding which occurred about 10:58 PM at a location on Dilbert Avenue. The incident involved two males who were reportedly stabbed and struck by a hammer. The suspect was arrested and the weapons allegedly used were recovered by the police. He remains in police custody. The victims are transported to hospital where they were treated. One was released and the other was flown to Grand Cayman for further treatment.
A 30 year old man was arrested on Friday 28 April and subsequently charged with two counts of Indecent Assault, previously reported to the police and will be taken to court today.
A 43 year old man previously arrested for burglary in North West Point, West Bay has also been charged and will be taken to court today.
One motor cyclist was arrested and 9 persons prosecuted during an event on Sunday in the GT Industrial Park area which attracted many motorcycle enthusiasts.
