Police can confirm reports that Edward Hendricks Hyde, age 39, who was reported missing on 30 June 2017, was found alive last week.  Mr. Hyde had been discovered by fishermen off the Mexican coast in the boat in which both he and Chadwick Bodden departed from Grand Cayman on 23 June.

RCIPS officers visited Mexico in recent days to confirm the reports of Mr. Hyde’s whereabouts and to conduct further enquiries.  At this time Mr. Bodden is still missing and feared lost at sea.

The RCIPS is in regular contact with the families of both men and providing regular updates on the investigation.  Mr. Hyde is in poor health, and despite their gratitude for the continued support and well-wishes of the community, his family is requesting minimal disturbances at this time to speed his recovery.
