The best photos from Toronto’s 50th annual Caribbean Carnival

This weekend marked Toronto’s 50th annual Caribbean Carnival and, like all 49 before it, this one didn’t disappoint. The celebration is the largest street festival in North America and has grown from a mere 50,000 participants when it began in 1967 (which is still a pretty good turnout, if you ask us) to over 1.2 million. The parade is all about celebrating Caribbean culture and history with a heavy focus on those dazzling costumes. If you’re not done up in glitter, at least six colours and a million feathers, are you even participating?

Even Toronto’s mayor, John Tory got in on the fun (although it seems he opted out of the costume which is disappointing).

Well, we’ve reviewed the photos, ladies and gentleman, and there were some incredible looks at the parade. Here are the absolute best (and brightest!) of Caribbean Carnival Toronto 2017.
