With eight years’ experience working in the Public Service Pensions Board: as Information and Operations Officer and most recently as an analyst, handling communications and public relations, Trevor Gibbs was ready to move: up not out.

Luckily for him PSPB management agreed and Mr. Gibbs has recently been appointed as one of the organisation’s newest Senior Member Services Officers.

“I’m excited to continue providing support to the organisation in achieving its goals and objectives, while also having an opportunity to be more directly involved in the Member Services side of our business,” said the Hiram College Communications graduate. “I am proud to be part of the PSPB team. It gives me immense job satisfaction to be helping members realise a more certain financial future.”

With the promotion, Mr. Gibbs now manages up to four member services officers, processes monthly pensions payroll as well as supervising the relationship with employers in his portfolio.

“I am pleased to appoint Mr. Gibbs to the new position of Senior Member Services Officer within the Pension

Administration and Member Services Department,” PSPB’s Managing Director Jewel Evans-Lindsay confirmed.

“The position was created to align with our mission of excellence in the delivery of member services; a role most compatible with Trevor’s personality and work ethic. A young Caymanian of his calibre embodies our core values of kindness, respect, partnership, integrity, innovation, performance and professionalism.  He’s a talented individual with a bright future and our senior executive team is hopeful that he will choose to develop, and pursue greater career challenges here.”

Mr. Gibbs will be working with Chief Pensions Officer Stephen Nichols. “The PSPB is keen to promote from within whenever possible,” said Mr. Nichols. “The post attracted a number of strong internal and external candidates. Trevor was among four interviewees shortlisted.”

Aside from his job, he is also a member of the PSPB’s Branding and Social Services Committees, which hosted several events earlier this year to mark the organisation’s 25th anniversary.

Outside work, the George Town resident is the assistant coach of Tigers Football Club, a local premier league team.

Working within an organisation whose work he believes in and a fund and pensions plan he is proud of, the assistant coach of Tigers F.C. is enjoying the responsibilities his new job.

Having grown exponentially since it was established 25 years ago, the PSPB of the Cayman Islands manages the Public Service Pensions Fund, which currently has around 10,000 members. Contributors to and beneficiaries of the public service pensions consist of employees of the Cayman Islands Government, as well as parliamentarians and the judiciary.
