On December 15th, Air Canada will increase its service from Toronto to Grand Cayman to six non-stop flights per week. The expanded service will run until April 2, 2018.

“The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism and our island partners in Grand Cayman are absolutely delighted with the expanded service and the impact this will have on driving tourism to the destination,” said Raymond Mathias, business development manager for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. “This added lift will boost both leisure and business travel to the destination as we continue to build on the growth we’ve already seen in 2017.”

“The Cayman Islands are a very popular destination for Canadians who love the hospitality of Caymanians and attractions such as the resorts, beaches and excellent diving. In response to demand Air Canada is pleased to increase service between Canada and the Cayman Islands this winter and we appreciate the efforts of the Department of Tourism to encourage travel to the Cayman Islands,” said Ariel Harris, general manager, Operations, Caribbean and Latin America for Air Canada.

Grand Cayman’s newest property is the 266-room Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, which opened last fall. Several other developments are underway, including a 185-room hotel for patients and families opening at Health City Cayman Islands, a world-class medical and surgical facility; a 200-room/90-residences St. James Point project; and a $360-million Ironwood Resort golf course and hotel.

“Our hotel sector has also undergone tremendous refurbishments, with the recent opening of a Margaritaville Resort Grand Cayman and a U.S. $50-million top-to-bottom renovation of the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, among other improvements,” said Mathias.

In addition, the Owen Robert International Airport in Grand Cayman is undergoing a major expansion to its check-in hall, baggage area and departure hall.
