ORIA REDEVELOPMENT UPDATE: Latest developments for December
The CIAA are pleased to update you on the latest Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) Redevelopment plans with much excitement building for the weeks of the 4th and 11th of December 2017.
Week of 4 December:
· American Airlines, British Airways and Southwest will be moving into the new ticketing area. All other airlines will remain “business as usual” in the existing ticketing area.
· The new baggage handling system in the north and south lines will become operational.
· The new baggage makeup area will be complete with new restroom and break room facilities available to CIAA employees.
· A new entry point into the Security Screening Checkpoint will be opened.
Week of 11 December:
· A portion of the new Immigration area will open up.
· The new Customs area will become operational.
· One of five new baggage claim belts will become operational and serviced by both domestic and international flights until all of the baggage claim belts open up.
· A new employee parking lot and a bus parking area will be opened.
· An extended canopy on the airside for additional weather protection to passengers will be opened.
· A new administrative wing will be opened for use by the airlines.
