South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump “deserves big credit” for his country’s talks with North Korea, BBC News reports. 

“I think President Trump deserves big credit for bringing about the inter-Korean talks,” Moon told reporters the day after talks began. “It could be a resulting work of the U.S.-led sanctions and pressure.”

He added that Trump “made a huge contribution to make inter-Korean talks happen [and] I’d like to express my gratitude.”

As a result of the talks on Tuesday, North Korea will send a delegation to the Olympics being held in Pyeongchang this year. That agreement was finalized at the International Olympic Committee headquarters in Switzerland on Wednesday.

“The U.S. and South Korea are in very close cooperation,” Moon also said to reporters, according to CNN.

He added that “there is no difference in our opinions with the U.S., which is why the U.S. is fully supporting [Tuesday’s] talks, expressing their wish this can help resolve the North Korea nuclear issue.”
