Update: Fatal Accident in North Side on 29 April

The following is an update regarding the fatal collision that occurred yesterday evening, 29 April, just before 8PM, when a Honda Fit Aria traveling west along North Side Road left the road near the Ronald Forbes Play Field and collided with a CUC pole.  The three occupants of the vehicle, all males, were transported by ambulance to George Town Hospital where one of them was pronounced dead.  The other two occupants, both males, remain in hospital; one with a serious, but not life-threatening injury and the second with a non-life threatening injury.

Police can confirm that the deceased was John Miller, III, age 27 of George Town.  The RCIPS extends its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Traffic officers are requesting that any witnesses to the accident please contact the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254with any information they may have, or to contact traffic investigator PC Devon O’Connor at Devon.O’[email protected].

Around 12:15am this morning,  30 April, the on-site traffic investigation concluded and the road re-opened.
Road Closure Update:
As of 11pm, one lane Old Man Bay Road has re-opened.

Further to the below, traffic officers inform that Old Man Bay Road near the grocery store is currently closed in both directions as they carry out their investigation at the scene of the crash. 

Just before 8pm this evening, Sunday, 29 April, a vehicle with a driver and two passengers crashed into a light pole in the vicinity of Old Man Bay Road in North Side. One person is confirmed deceased and the two other occupants of the vehicle have been taken to the hospital
