Cayman Islands:The LETR Kirkland Nixon Memorial Fire Truck Pull and Special Olympics National Games, 4 June

On Saturday 2 June, the four (4) Law Enforcement Agencies of the Cayman Islands along with some two (2) corporate bodies participated in the Kirkland Franklin Memorial Fire Truck Pull to raise funds for the Special Olympics Cayman Islands Athletes.
A large number of Special Olympics Athletes as well as members of the public, gathered at the location to watch the competition. Each team participating in the event had one Special Olympics Athlete pulling with them.
The competition ended with the Cayman Islands Fire Service taking home the winning trophy in the Law Enforcement competition and Cayman Islands CrossFit team winning in the corporate section.
The Special Olympics Cayman Islands hosted its Special Olympics National Games on Monday 4 June at 5:30PM. The eventl showcased the track and field talents and started off with the symbolic law enforcement torch run.

Monday, June 4, 2018 – 5:30 p.m : Track & Field and opening ceremony – Truman Bodden Sports’ Complex
Tuesday, June 5, 2018 – 5:30 p.m: Swimming – Lion’s pool
Thursday, June 7, 2018 – 5:30 p.m: Basketball – First Baptist Christian School
Friday, June 8, 2018 – 5:30 p.m: Free
Saturday, June 9, 2018 – 9:00 a.m: Stand up paddleboard – Governor’s Beach
Tuesday, June 12, 2018 – 5:30 p.m Football (soccer) – Truman Bodden Sports’ Complex
