Cayman Islands: Aggravated Burglary in George Town, 5 June

At about 11:30PM on Tuesday, 5 June, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of an aggravated burglary at a residence on Spruce Lane in George Town. A lone male entered the residence through the open rear door, brandished an object wrapped in cloth, which appeared to be a firearm, and demanded cash from the occupants. He then made off with some personal items, exiting again through the rear door.
The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall, of slim build and dark complexion. He was wearing dark pants, a blue shirt and had a shirt covering his face.
No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident, which is currently under police investigation. The crime scene was attended and forensically examined by officers.
Anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the vicinity of Spruce Lane, Courts Road, or Eastern Avenue at or around11:30PM on Tuesday, is encouraged to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
