Just before 12:30 a.m. this morning Saturday 9 June, police were dispatched by the 911 Communication Center to a report of a armed robbery at the Cayman National Bank on Elgin Avenue.

It was reported that two masked men armed with guns robbed a security guard of two money bags containing of cash.

The amounts and currency are unknown at this time.  During the incident, the robbers smash the windscreen of the vehicle that was user to transport the money and fired off a single gunshot.

The matter is under police investigation no arrests have been made at this time
