Caribbean tourism organization plans for October conference
The Caribbean Tourism Organization will analyze new ways for the area’s tourism industry to adapt to changing trends and demands at this year’s State of the Tourism Industry Conference. Themed Rejuvenate, Recreate, Reconnect – New Directions for Caribbean Tourism, the meeting will run from October 2 to October 5 at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The first day of the conference will focus on “Recreate.” Guests will discuss innovation, business development and building improved physical infrastructure and better technology-driven experiences.
The next day will center on “Rejuvenation.” Talks will dwell on adding energy and freshness to Caribbean tourism. Another part of the day’s discussions will be how regional carriers can ease travel throughout the region.
The last day will stress “Reconnecting.” Conference participants will delve into how the Caribbean tourism industry can distinguish itself by building its cultural hybridism and wellness customs into its offerings.
The conference’s organizers intend for the conference to encourage new thinking on the issues the Caribbean faces. Throughout the event, they plan on talking about guests’ enthusiasm for new experiences while responding to the impact visitors have on the communities and places they travel to.
The conference will bring together Caribbean tourism producers, policymakers, professionals and partners from both the public and private sectors. CTO is working with the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism to organize the event.
