Harney’s development programme sees admission of Caymanian lawyer to the Bar
Harneys’ litigation team in the Cayman Islands has expanded with the addition of Jaron Leslie, who successfully completed his articles this summer and has secured a place with the firm as an associate.
Speaking to Harneys’ Professional Development Programme, Marco Martins, Cayman managing partner, said: “Jaron is the fourth Caymanian to successfully complete the programme since it launched only a few years ago. We are delighted Jaron has chosen to stay with the firm and join our growing litigation practice. Our professional development programme continues to allow Caymanians pursuing a career in law with hands-on experience and real-time case work, and the firm with fresh, eager qualified lawyers to grow our practice areas.”
Before beginning his articles at Harneys, Jaron worked at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority where he gained a strong working knowledge of the local regulatory regime and techniques for auditing and inspection of financial services providers. His career also included work as a client relationship manager for a wealth management and captive insurance service provider and as a fund fiduciary services administrator with a large financial services company in the Cayman Islands. He was also the recipient of the Higgs & Johnson 2015 Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship.
Less than one year ago Harneys launched an ambitious plan to grow its litigation team via a global recruitment drive. Jaron Leslie’s appointment brings the total number of lawyers in the practice group to 65.
