UPDATE – Mon Aug 19

Yesterday, 19 August, the accused in the below incident, a man, age 23 of Bodden Town, was charged with Wounding, Assault ABH, Causing Harassment, Alarm and Distress, and Drunk and Disorderly Conduct.

He will appear in court today, 20 August.

Two women were injured during the incident; one woman remains in the hospital in stable condition.

Correction to the below:  The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, 18 August, not on Friday evening, 17 August.

Just before 4:30AM this morning, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched police to a report of a disturbance at a bar on Shamrock Road.  A man had banged on the door and broken it to gain entry, then upset furniture and caused a general disturbance inside during which a woman was assaulted.

The woman is in the hospital with what may be serious injuries.  A man, age 23, was arrested on suspicion of assault GBH and is currently in police custody.
