Crane breaks local records
The developers of the nine storey WaterColours luxury condominium complex that is on the former site of the Beach Club and is set to be finished late next year, has a crane being used by the general contractor’s Arch and Godfrey that has broken local records. It was extended up to 202 feet, to become the tallest structure in the Cayman Islands.
When the complex is completed later next year it will be the country’s tallest residential building. This follows a controversial amendment to the planning law in 2010 allowing developers to exceed the seven-story limit up to as many as ten floors in the main tourist zone.
