Just after 1PM today police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of an assault that took place at the Department of Environmental Health compound located on Seymour Drive, George Town.

It appears that two (2) men had an altercation, which resulted in one man being stabbed. The injured party was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he is currently being treated for what appears to be serious but non-life-threatening-injuries.

The suspect in the matter, a 19-year-old-man from West Bay has been arrested and is being held in the Cayman Islands Detention Centre.

The matter is currently under police investigations.
