Ammunition left behind by RCIPS
An RCIPS spokesperson has confirmed a report we received yesterday that officers left rounds of rifle .223 ammunition behind at the Cayman Islands Gun Club (CIGC) shooting range last week after a training session at the range. The spokesperson also said the police were conducting an internal investigation into how the rounds of ammunition got mistakenly left at the club and apparently forgotten about.
“The RCIPS had been conducting routine training at the CIGC the previous day Friday 30th March,” the spokesperson revealed. “It has now been established that the recovered rounds do in fact belong to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.”
We understand the ammunition was found by a member of the public who reported it to the RCIPS.
