Commissioner urges JCF members to reach out to Chaplaincy Unit
COMMISSIONER of Police Major General Antony Anderson is urging members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to reach out, if necessary, to the departments that provide support services following the death of one of their colleagues yesterday.
“I urge all members to avail themselves of the services available through the Chaplaincy Unit and the Medical Services Branch wherever needed,” General Anderson is quoted as saying in a release from the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) yesterday.
The deceased cop has been identified as Constable Shadale Goldburne, who CCU said died yesterday in a traffic crash.
Constable Goldburne was a member of the force for just over a year, CCU said. He was assigned to the Kingston Central Police Division, but was performing duties in the St Catherine North Division at the time of his death.
According to the release from CCU, Goldburne died about 2:30 am when the Suzuki Swift motor car he was driving along the Spanish Town Bypass crashed at the intersection with St John’s Road.
“The motor car reportedly crashed into a tree before coming to rest in a ditch beside the roadway,” the release said.
In the meantime, the Police High Command has also extended condolences to the police officer’s loved ones and the wider JCF family.
