Concacaf to tour the Gold Cup Trophy in anticipation of this Summer’s tournament
Fans invited to see/interact with the trophy in person at various events at select cities across the United States
Miami (Tuesday, March 5, 2019) – With little over 100 days until the start of this summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup, the confederation announced the trophy tour stops to promote the tournament. As part of the trophy tour, fans will be able to see the trophy in person and take photos with the cup in different locations throughout their cities. Additionally, the trophy will make several media appearances.
The trophy will begin its journey on March 9-10, when it visits Houston for the annual Houston Rodeo, which regularly sees 2.5 million visitors every year, as well as the Houston Dynamo’s match against the Montreal Impact. Other notable stops for the trophy include the Youth State Cup and Presidents Cup in Phoenix, the premier youth soccer tournament with over 7000 participating families; and Denver’s Cinco de Mayo Festival; among many other fan and media-facing events in the different Gold Cup cities. Below is a full list of cities the trophy will be visiting, with more cities possibly being added to the calendar:

- Cleveland, OH;
- Denver, CO;
- Charlotte, NC;
- Dallas, TX;
- Nashville, TN
The elegant golden trophy will be lifted by the winner of the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup – the official national team championship of the region that will feature some of the top players of North and Central America and the Caribbean. Drawing large crowds and millions of television viewers from across the region, the Gold Cup is a celebration of soccer, sportsmanship, and culture.

The complete groups and schedule will be announced later this year, once all nations have qualified for the Gold Cup via the Concacaf Nations League Qualifier, with the final round taking place March of 2019. To date, six of the 16 national teams scheduled to participate have qualified for next year’s tournament, those being the countries that participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Hexagonal qualifier round: Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States.

The tournament will be broadcast nationally on the Univision and FOX family of networks and transmitted on radio in Spanish by Fútbol de Primera Radio Network, and broadcast by television partners in over 180 countries around the world.
