CNCF “Fresh Night Out”

The Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) announce their upcoming “Fresh Night Out event happening this Saturday, April 28th.

Their press release says:

Any fashion designer knows, behind the best runway looks is a perfectionist of makeup artist, and an equally talented hairstylist. With support from Kirk Freeport and La Belle International, FRESH 2012 completes their behind-the-scenes team of highly skilled professionals.

Over the past four decades Kirk Freeport has made a name for itself among local and international patrons as Cayman’s go-to retailer for jewellery, fragrances, and with the addition of NARS and Black Up makeup lines, cosmetics. With a mission to revive FRESH and to set a new standard for fashion shows in the Cayman Islands, Kirk Freeport became the go-to partner for cosmetic brilliance at FRESH 2012.

Both born in France, NARS and Black Up cosmetics offer makeup professionals free reign to create bold looks with highly pigmented products in a wide range of shades. Specialised for women of colour, Black Up was founded in 1999, and is now the #1 ethnic makeup brand in France. NARS was created by celebrity makeup artist Francois Nars in 1994, and continues to be the choice of fashion designers Phillip Lim and Marc Jacobs for their runway collections, including Spring/Summer 2012.

In support of FRESH 2012 Kirk Freeport will provide all makeup to bring out the already-stunning features of the show’s 40+ runway models. The talented professionals of La Belle International take on the models’ hair.

With a vision of revolutionising salon services in Cayman, La Belle owner Angie Purvis made her salon over in late-2009, keeping her customer-focused approach and adding high-end natural treatments to nurture La Belle clients’ hair. Having participated in previous FRESH fashion shows La Belle was eager to join the team once again, and conducted individualised hair consultations for each FRESH model in preparation for the show on Saturday, April 28. Ms. Purvis explained, “I think it’s good exposure for the salon and for me as a business owner, and we’re so excited to be a part of FRESH 2012.”

Sharing those sentiments are other valued FRESH 2012 supporters, Silver Sponsors: Cayman Airways, Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa, and Caledonian Global Financial Services, and Bronze Sponsors: Cayman National, Intec Research Production Services, Esteban Gallery, Coconut Car Rentals, David Goddard Photography, and Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (DOT).

The DOT’s partnership with FRESH 2012 helps us forge new connections with our international guests: Accessory designers Coco&&Breezy, professional stylist Dexter Pottinger, and R&B superstar J. Holiday, who will visit Cayman’s top tourism attractions Stingray City and the Turtle Farm.

Pottinger tells FRESH organisers,

“Cayman is known around the world for its Turtle Farm. I’m looking forward to experiencing Cayman’s culture, and when I travel to Jamaica and Japan and other places I’ll be visiting, I’ll be able to tell people how much I enjoyed experiencing what Cayman has to offer.”

The FRESH team is grateful and energized by the support of all of our sponsors, and is excited to welcome a full house of guests to what promises to be Cayman’s most awe-inspiring fashion event of 2012

FRESH is in its fifth year and is a part of the Cayman National Cultural Foundation’s Cayfest programme. FRESH 2012 is slated for Saturday, April 28 at the Governor’s Ballroom, Westin Casuarina Hotel. The event will feature local designers Jacqueline Bleicher, Virginia Foster, Sandra Lichenstein, Shirley DaCosta, Melissa Dilbert and Mara McBean. Recognised Caymanian designers and FRESH alumni Kidan Brooks and Jawara Alleyne will also showcase collections.

The FRESH show will bring together several local businesses and talents to celebrate fashion in the Cayman Islands. Funds raised from the FRESH 2012 silent auction will benefit Young At Arts, CNCF’s youth theater programme.
