Cayman Islands’ Reefs
By Leonard Ho (http://www.advancedaquarist.com)
It’s time to show the Caribbean some love again. While the diversity, of fish and corals is dwarfed by their Pacific counterparts, the coral reefs of the Atlantic are still a place of awe and beauty wholly worthy of appreciation.
The Cayman Islands is known as a major offshore financial centre … three tiny islands that make up the world’s fifth largest banking system. As much as the Caymans are known for their finances, don’t discount the natural beauty of these Caribbean islands. While the number of species here is not as rich as the Pacific (and perhaps the Cayman banks), a tranquil, lovely coral reef seascape welcomes underwater visitors.
