Christine Lagarde, who has been the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund since 2011, has been nominated as candidate to take over from Mario Draghi as the President of the European Central Bank.

She was quizzed by MEPs at a hearing in the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee.

The EPP Group’s coordinator on that committee, Marcus Ferber, was among those MEPs.
