SYNOPSIS

A broad area of low pressure across the western Caribbean will support light winds and seas along with isolated showers and possible thunder across the Cayman area for the next 24 hours. Radar images show scattered showers in and around the Cayman area moving towards the north-northeast. At 4 a.m., the National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida is issuing advisories on Tropical Storms Jerry and Karen. Tropical Storm Jerry was located near 25.0N 66.9W or about 645 miles south of Bermuda and moving north-northwest at 12 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. Tropical Storm Karen was located near 11.9N 60.2W or about 100 miles east of Grenada and moving west-northwest at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 40mph. THESE TROPICAL STORMS POSE NO THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.
