Independent member for North Side Mr. Ezzard Miller recently came under fire for what some people call verbal abuse on the disabled. The victim being the executive conservative minister Lord Blencathra, the Cayman Islands Representative in the London office. He is a former MP and Tory chief whip. Lord Blencathra is being paid to lobby on behalf of the Cayman Island’s financial Industry working out of the London Office.
Lord Blencathra has been the subject of some financial irregularities himself, and the Independent member stated that he should step down from his post or be removed.
Many people in our society were shocked at the independent Member’s choice of words that followed to describe the Honorable Lord Blencathra from the UK.
This attack on the disabled and elderly leaves many of us to wonder whether Mr. Ezzard Miller considered that he has lost respect by his recent comments against Lord Blencathra of the UK? It is one thing to publicly state that Lord Blencathra Cayman’s Representative should be removed or step down from his post in the UK. But in the public’s view it is taking it just a bit too far, for Mr. Ezzard Miller a former Minister of Health to make fun of Lord Blencathra’s disability; it is indeed a disgrace, disappointment and speaks volumes about what is truly in Mr. Miller’s heart, a former Minister of Health! This is very hypocritical of Mr. Miller who presents himself as squeaky clean putting everyone but himself under the microscope!
My conclusion is that Mr. Ezzard Miller has not changed even though North Siders gave him a second chance. Had it not been for some of Cayman’s most luminary writers and journalists during Campaign 2009, Mr. Miller would not be kicking up the storm that he is now raging on today. For it was obvious that without the media and local writers encouraging the North Siders to give Mr. Miller a Second chance; Mr. Joey Ebanks was guaranteed a seat, as North Siders were considering Joey very strongly with Mrs. Edna Moyle’s endorsement to his advantage. Ezzard Miller had been on the sidelines, and was given an unexpected thrust into the polls that he did not expect, it is left to be seen if he deserved that support, time will tell.
This recent behavior of the Independent Member for North Side leaves all of us to believe only one thing and that is; Mr. Miller has not changed, and really thinks that he ‘HAS ARRIVED!”
The Independent Member and Opposition are calling for the Premier to step down, but Mr. Miller seems to be in oblivion to the reality that he is obligated as an elected official to offer an apology to Lord Blencathra publicly and also apologize to all the disabled, and indigent people of the Cayman Islands.
Not only did Mr. Miller insult Lord Blencathra but also all those that are socially challenged, and those who have no voice. Mr. Miller should show some moral rectitude, demonstrate that he indeed is a responsible citizen and elected member, and he too should be asked to step down or make a public apology for these highly offensive remarks made against Lord Blencathra, and all those who share the same physical challenges.
