Cayman: Hurley’s Media brings Christmas joy to DCFS children
Hurley’s Media has once again teamed up with the Department of Children and Family Services for the 25th annual Christmas for Kids event, bringing together over 170 children, parents and caretakers for a fun filled day out with a Christmas theme.
Hurley’s Media staff volunteered their time doing arts and crafts, assisting Santa with present giveaways, basketball, roller skating and much more.
Proceeds and donations from sponsors meant Hurley’s Media were not only able to put on a great event, $9,952 was donated to the Department of Children and Family Services which will be used to purchase presents and Christmas food for local children who are in the social service program.
“Christmas for Kids is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community. Seeing children, who may not have a chance to experience Christmas festivities, brings the team at Hurley’s Media so much joy. After all, it is the season of giving,” said Shawna Marshall, event organizer.
“We are incredibly grateful to the team at Hurley’s Media for making this event possible. It is always a huge success and we love seeing the children walk away with big smiles on their faces,” said Mrs. Paulinda Mendoza-Williams, Director of the Department of Children and Family Services.
An occasion traditionally organized by Cayman 27, the team at Hurley’s Media were proud to be able to continue bringing this event to life.
“Contributing to something larger than ourselves not only strengthens the connection within our own organization, it also makes for stronger community relations,” Mrs. Marshall said.
