Cayman: DCR suspends services in response to coronavirus

CAYMAN ISLANDS (GIS) – As a part of the Cayman Islands Government’s COVID-19 preparedness measures, the Department of Community Rehabilitation (DCR) will be limiting office visits until further notice.

All in-office appointments for this week have been cancelled as will all group programmes.

DCR will be in touch with clients this week to reschedule appointments and advise how they may contact and report to the department in the coming weeks.

Existing clients and partner agencies needing to contact the department for urgent matters, can do so via the main telephone lines (949-1693 in Grand Cayman and 948-1521 in Cayman Brac).

In addition, the following cell phone numbers can also be used in order to reach the department urgently: 916-4572, 925-9505, 936-0460, 926-2197, or 926-9347.

Commenting on the measures, Director of DCR, Ms Lisa Malice-Hill said, “The safety of our staff and clients remains our number one priority. We have taken the government’s advice and will be adapting in order to continue to offer the same high quality services under the new conditions. Consistency is key when it comes to rehabilitation so this will be done with as little disruption to our clients as possible.”
