This week GIS Spotlight focuses on the Queen’s Jubilee and the closed circuit television system that is now in place

The Cayman Islands is busy preparing to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s diamond jubilee starting from the last week in May. Share in the excitement of what is being planned and see how we can all participate to show our respect for the Queen’s 60 year rule.

Next, we take you into the realm of Grand Cayman’s closed circuit television system that is up and running. See how the cameras that are pointed at public roads throughout the island will help police and 911 operations.

Aimed at improving police functioning and public safety, the cameras can also read licence plates of moving vehicles. Learn about the ease in operating the cameras remotely from a centralised location as well as from district units whenever necessary.
