Cayman: HSA requires Facemasks across organisation
To protect staff and patients, effective Monday, 11th May, ALL persons entering the Health Services Authority will be required to wear facemasks (this includes Faith Hospital and District Health Centres).
“Most persons in recent weeks entering the HSA have worn facemasks, however we are taking this step to mandate the wearing of masks as an additional measure to protect our patients and our staff,” said HSA CEO, Lizzette Yearwood.
“Wearing facemasks should be used in conjunction with practicing social distancing, hand hygiene and proper respiratory etiquette.”
Masks are required in all areas of HSA (ie: waiting rooms, elevators, clinics, hallways, cafeteria, atrium, blood bank, wards, etc).
All security guards will have facemasks available upon entry for patients not wearing a mask.
NOTE: If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please contact your private general health practitioner or call the HSA Flu Hotline 1-800-534-8600 or 947-3077 or email [email protected] before leaving your home. You will receive advice over the phone to guide on what the next steps are (ie. Stay at home, come to the Flu Clinic, etc).
