Survivor of kafala-linked abuse in Lebanon returns home to Nigeria Ariwolo Olamide Temitope is finally home. The Nigerian domestic worker, 31, previously escaped her employers in Lebanon after documenting physical abuse. But as she was about to board her flight home in May, she was detained, accused of attempted murder of her employers, and forced to endure six weeks of isolation in a detention center. Read more… |

Amnesty scheme fails to adequately protect migrant workers in Italy Scrambling to protect the country’s agricultural industry, which relies heavily on the labor of undocumented migrant workers, the Italian government introduced a 6-month amnesty in May.
