My featured artwork, entitled “Thatcher”, is a collage of images that tell the story of our National Tree. The artwork paints a chronicle of the thatch tree’s usage; plating of its leaves into baskets, “laces” for wompas, broom and hat. It was even used to hold the turtle, once caught by our forefathers. On the right of the painting is a song I wrote tocomplete my thoughts on this graceful tree:”Full moon calls to gather island forest, swipes from machete awakes the solace…” **original painting or prints available-contact me for details |
The “Thatcher” was exhibited at artexpo New York, the worlds largest fine art trade show.
Special thanks to the CNCF for their involvement!
