Taste of Cayman Food & Drink Festival 2020 moved to 2021
Taste of Cayman Food & Drink Festival 2020 which was postponed shortly before it was to take place on 4 April, and was rescheduled to 24 October 2020, has been postponed for this year and will return on Saturday, 17 April 2021.
The decision to move Taste of Cayman 2020 comes as a result of ongoing uncertainty over mass gatherings due to COVID-19 suppression measures, as well as the need to support Cayman’s hospitality industry in allowing business owners time to focus on rebuilding their businesses as they re-open following the lockdown.
“Delaying Taste of Cayman until 2021 will give businesses the time they need to recover and to properly prepare for and engage with the festival once they are back on their feet,” Ms. Julie Allan, Chair of the Taste of Cayman Committee and member of the CITA Executive Committee said.
“While there will not be a festival this year, we strongly encourage the people of Cayman to continue to visit our restaurant and bars and support the food and beverage industry during these unprecedented times of economic hardship.”
“We’d like to thank our sponsors, vendors, volunteers and event partners for their unwavering support during this difficult time – we appreciate their commitment to the festival and all that it brings to the Cayman Islands,” Ms Allan said. “And to our festival guests, every year you continue to make Taste of Cayman a wonderful celebration of food, drink, music, community and island life – we can’t wait to come together again when it’s safe to do so.”
