Cayman: CAL strictly enforcing check-in time requirements
In order to comply with regulatory requirements and airport operating hours, Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) is reminding passengers that check-in for all jet flights closes one hour before each flight’s scheduled departure time, including domestic jet flights between Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands.
For passengers travelling on Cayman Airways Express Twin Otter and Saab domestic flights, check-in time closes at 30 minutes prior to departure.
For all repatriation jet flights, Cayman Airways recommends that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to departure to check-in.
Alternatively, passengers may check-in online at www.caymanairways.com but must arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to departure for passport verification and to check-in bags, including for domestic flights.
Passengers not checked-in before the specified check-in closure times, will not be able to travel.
To help expedite the check-in process at the airport, passengers are encouraged to pay their bag fees in advance at any Cayman Airways ticket office in the days leading up to their travel date.
VP Airport Operations for Cayman Airways, Mr. Ivan Forbes, said: “It’s important for passengers to respect check-in time deadlines because it is a regulatory requirement for international flights, and the airline must also comply with airport operational hours. It also helps to ensure that passengers have sufficient time to clear security and make it to their gate for an on-time departure. He thanks customers for their understanding and cooperation.
