Single Vehicle Collision in South Sound

Shortly after 4:20AM on Saturday, 16 January, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on South Sound Road, in the vicinity of Anne Bonny Crescent, where a black Honda Fit had collided with a tree and a utility pole. Emergency services attended the location and the sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries and subsequently discharged.
The matter is currently under investigation.
Man Arrested on Suspicion of DUI Following Single Vehicle Collision in Bodden Town

Shortly after 8:30PM on Sunday, 17 January, officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Condor Road, Bodden Town, in the vicinity of Easy Street, where a grey Kia Cerato had collided with a wall. The vehicle caught fire shortly after the collision and the driver was assisted from the vehicle by members of the public nearby. Emergency services attended the location and examined the driver, who was uninjured. The vehicle fire was extinguished by officers from the Cayman Islands Fire Service.
As police officers spoke to the driver, they detected the strong scent of alcohol, and a roadside breath test was conducted with a result of 0.136%. The driver, a man age 26 of West Bay, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Police Detention Centre. He was later granted bail as investigations continue.
