Cayman: COVID-19 Update 9 April 2021, ONE NEW Positive, 56,223 vaccines administered
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 373 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Thursday, 8 April 2021. One was positive.
The individual is a traveller who tested positive following routine screening. They will remain in isolation until considered recovered.
The number of people in isolation, either at a government facility or in their homes, as required by the Medical Officer of Health, is 799.
The total number of COVID-19 vaccines administered to date is 56,223.
So far, 31,661 (49% of the estimated population of 65,000) have received at least one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, with 38% having completed the two-dose course.
