Cayman: COVID-19 Update 27 May 2021, NO new positives, 79,562 total vaccinations
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 342 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Wednesday, 26 May 2021. There were no positive test results.
Following an evening event at the East End Public Beach on Wednesday, 26 May, and an ongoing community outreach programme, there have been 79,562 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands.
Of these, 42,954 (66% of 65,000) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 56% have completed the two-dose course.
In terms of age groups, a large majority of residents over the age of 50 have received at least one vaccination dose. For those under the age of 50, the percentages of those having had one dose are:
Aged 16 to 30 years 46%
Aged 30 to 40 years 60%
Aged 40 to 50 years 70%
