Cubans Repatriated
The Cuban migrants that arrived in the Cayman Islands on 18 April 2012, after their vessel ran into difficulties, were repatriated Thursday evening (7 June) at approximately 6pm.
The group consisted of 27 men and one woman.
It should be noted that, out of this group, four had escaped from security guards at the detention centre, but all were recaptured within 48 hours.
The repatriation took place without incident. Police, assisted by Immigration Officers, acted as escorts.
