Cayman: COVID-19 Update 3 PM 1 October 2021, 13 New Positives (unchanged from 8am), 107,039 vaccinations
As of 3PM Friday, 1 October 2021, the Chief Nursing Officer, Dr. Hazel Brown, reports that there have been no further updates since the last report was issued this morning.
At that time there were 13 new positives. The breakdown of the positive results is as follows:
· Two travellers
· 11 community transmission cases, including:
- Six students (three from Prospect Primary, one from John Gray High School (a direct contact of a Prospect student and already in isolation), one from George Town Primary School and one from Triple “C”)
- One preschooler
- Two adult contacts of students
- Two community acquired with no known connection to a case
There have been 107,039 Covid-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 55,200 (78% of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 51,759 (73%) have completed the two-dose course.
