Cayman Islands Regiment starts 2021 Recruitment
The Cayman Islands Regiment (CIR) aims to recruit new volunteers for its third cohort of recruitment. The CIR is looking for physically able individuals between the ages of 18- 50 years old who are Caymanian and Permanent Residents of the Cayman Islands to join.
Candidates are expected to complete the four-phase recruitment process. Phase one consists of physical assessment, phase two is an interview with Regiment personnel. Phase three comprises the medical and drug test and phase four is the 14-day non-residential training camp scheduled for 2022.
Once candidates successfully complete all phases of recruitment, they will be invited to the Passing Out Parade and officially become members of the Cayman Islands Regiment.
Lt Col Watson, the Commanding Officer of the CIR, encourages the men and women of the Cayman Islands to make an impactful contribution to the community by joining the regiment.
“The Cayman Islands Regiment is proud to serve Cayman in times of emergency. Since it was created last year, men and women of the Regiment have deployed during three tropical storms to carry out evacuations, route & debris clearance and emergency food distribution; more recently teams have distributed emergency aid to 120 quarantining families across Grand Cayman. If you want to serve your community and be part of a dedicated team that supports Cayman then apply to join us.”
Potential candidates are asked to complete the application on the CIR website www.exploregov.ky/ciregiment. The deadline for applications will be November 15th, 2021.
If potential candidates have any questions or concerns, they can contact the Regimental Headquarters at 640-3889.
