A 22-year-old man of West Bay has been formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, after surrendering to custody on 26 October. The charge is in relation to an incident that took place on 10 July, 2021. (see details below)

The man appeared before the court today, 4 November, where he was remanded in custody until 12 November, when he will return to the Grand Court.

Police Respond to Firearm Incident in West Bay, 10 July

Police can confirm that just before 9:20PM on Saturday 10 July, armed officers were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre, to the West Bay District, where reports were received of shots being fired. The officers are currently on scene and making checks in the West Bay area. So far there has not been any reports of injuries made to the police as a result of this incident.

An investigation has been launched and further details will be provided as the matter progresses.
