Cayman: Christmas Garbage Collection 2021
Grand Cayman, December 20, 2021 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) advises the public that there will be no garbage collection services on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25, 2021. The landfills in Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will also be closed on that day. However, the landfill drop-off facility at the gate will remain accessible for the public and small vehicles 24 hours per day.
Collections will resume and landfills will reopen on Monday, December 27, 2021 (Christmas Day Observed), as usual. Normal operations will continue on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 (Boxing Day Observed).
The public is also advised that the landfills will operate half day on Christmas Eve (Friday, December 24, 2021), closing its gates at 1:00 PM. The same schedule will apply on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (Friday, December 31 and Saturday, January 1, 2022, respectively). Normal collection will take place on New Year’s Day Saturday, January 1, 2021.
