Cayman: Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Begin this Weekend (Sun 6)
Celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee kick off this weekend in the Cayman Islands.
On Sunday, the Cayman Islands will pause for 70 seconds across the three islands at 12:15 pm in recognition of both the passing of King George in 1952 and Her Majesty The Queen acceding to the throne.

A special meeting of The House of Parliament begins at 4:30 pm as the celebrations continue.
Following the inspection of the honour guard by the Governor outside Parliament, he will read a Proclamation in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne.
After the departure of the Governor, the House will continue with salutations to Her Majesty from Members of Parliament before the closure of the special meeting.
