Emergency Field Hospital Airlifted
to Besieged Ukraine
The world continues to be horrified by images of death and destruction coming out of Ukraine, a catastrophe we have not witnessed in Europe since the Second World War. The needs are desperate and we have airlifted an Emergency Field Hospital via two flights of our DC-8 cargo plane and an additional 747 flight.
The hospital is currently being set up on the outskirts of Lviv, Ukraine. The nearly 60-bed facility will have an ICU, two operating theaters, with capacity for 14 major surgeries or 30 minor surgeries each day, and an emergency room that can handle 100 patients daily.
Members of our Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART)—including doctors, nurses, and logistics and set-up personnel—arrived with the hospital and have joined our staff already helping some of the more than 2 million refugees who’ve fled the carnage to neighboring countries. We also are distributing hygiene kits, winter blankets, solar lights, and additional items to those in need.
The most important thing we can do is pray. Please pray earnestly for the people of Ukraine and that God will soon bring peace. Now is the time to remember what Jesus told us: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Sincerely,
Franklin Graham
