The UWI Regional Headquarters, Jamaica W.I. Tuesday, March 29, 2022—The new Chair of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Steering Committee and Head of the Digital Transformation Strategic Initiative, Professor Lloyd Waller, has published his latest book, ‘Digital Transformation for Higher Education Institutions: A Framework for the Future’.

Professor Waller’s book presents a roadmap for Digital Transformation and is the first of its kind to offer a guided approach to planning and implementing digital transformation in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

The publication proposes the adoption of a Digital Transformation strategy for HEIs to build resilience, thrive in crises, and become sustainable. It emphasizes the importance of “understanding the issues at play” and outlines a step-by-step guide for action.

This book, which is Professor Waller’s seventh, was published by Ian Randle Publishers and serves as a valuable resource for anyone involved in Digital Transformation in Higher Education. According to the cover blurb, the book is free of technical language and will present no difficulty for anyone without a digital background.

Professor Waller’s research interests include Digital Transformation Policies and Practice; Electronic Governance, Tourism Resilience, Development Studies, Governance, and Advanced Research Methods. A professor of Digital Transformation Policy and Governance at The University of the West Indies (The UWI), he was recently appointed as the new Chair of the UWI’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Steering Committee. He also leads The UWI’s Digital Transformation Strategic Initiative as the institution embarks on Phase 2 of its ‘Triple A Strategy’ strategic plan. This second phase of the Triple A Strategy, described as the ‘Revenue Revolution’ is envisioned to be powered by Digital Transformation.
