Cayman: Man Charged with Attempted Rape

On Monday night, 2 May, officers received a report of an attempted rape at an address off Tropical Gardens Road, George Town.
It was reported that, earlier that morning, a woman had been at her place of residence when a man known to her came to the location. While at the location the man attempted to force himself sexually on the woman, ripping her clothes and threatening her. The woman resisted the man and a struggle ensued, with the man eventually leaving the location. The woman received minor injuries during the incident.
Early the following morning, Tuesday, 3 May, officers arrested a man, age 40 of George Town, in relation to the incident. He has since been formally charged with Attempted Rape, and appears in court today, 5 May.
