Cayman: Police investigate incidents where shots fired in George Town
Shortly after 4:20AM on Saturday, 9 July, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of Martin Drive, George Town. Officers attended and recovered spent shell casings at the location.
Shortly after 6:30AM, the same day, officers responded to a report of shots fired at an address on Mangrove Avenue. It was reported that earlier that morning the occupants of the residence had heard shots being fired.
Officers attended the location and observed damage to the residence that appears to have been caused by gunshots. The officers also recovered spent shell casings and spent bullets.
No injuries were reported as a result of either incident and both matters are currently under investigation. It is unknown at this time whether the incidents are connected.
